Mom, Mommy, Momma

05/01/2013 19:59

I never knew how exciting and stressful at the same time motherhood to three boys can be. The joys of their smiles and then the stressfulness of their fussiness and crying. It can go from happy to sad in as a little as a second with no warning.

The twins are walking along every piece of furniture. They have now learned how to climb on the couch. So what was a safe haven for me and my items, is now full on twin territory. I have definately had to change things and move things. Its nice that they want to climb up and sit with me but then when your not watching they are hanging off the arm rests! :)

This is the first time for me to be a stay at home mom and some days are better than others. From knowing what to feed them to knowing when they need to take a nap. With all the articles now on what is "not safe" and "only use organic" it can get confusing for a mother.  I try to do my best but sometimes i just have to STOP reading all the articles and do what is in my gut.  I love my boys and dont want to always worry about if they are wearing cloth or disposable diapers or only giving them natural remedies when they are sick.

I see all these moms talking about how they never take their child to the Dr. and how they only give them natural items to help when they are sick.  I fell that if i spend all my time worrying about all this when do i have time to play with my boys. Brody wore disposable diapers, drank formula and was always at the Dr. and he is alive and well.

I think sometimes we fail to stop over thinking how we are doing as a parent and just enjoy being a parent.

I enjoy being a mom and being able to let them play in the dirt, eat fruit loops and play with the mail. Just let your "hair down" and stop worrying, you are doing the best you can, and that is all that matters.

getting places

02/13/2013 13:51

well both boys are officially on the move EVERYWHERE. Bryson walks along the furniture and brayden is starting to be more brave and TRY to move along the furniture.

Bryson talks ALL THE TIME and brayden is starting to say dada and mama and baba and some other sounds. Early ed still comes out every 3 weeks to work with Brayden. He is getting stronger and is sitting up more. They are both on table foods only now plus the formula. I think its gonna be hard to get them off the bottle, they love that thing.

Brayden goes back in march to get a bigger conformer for his eye. We are STILL waiting on disability and HOPEFULLY we get it...if not we will probably have to do another fundraiser to keep money in his account for his trips to the ocularist. He likes to pull the conformer out though, so we are going to ask the ocularist if he will cut the stem down so he cant pull it out.

They both have been staying pretty healthy and hopefully continue to do so, ive kept them inside mostly so they dont catch everything going around.

ON THE MOVE

01/10/2013 14:33

the boys are both on the move. Bryson is crawling EVERYWHERE and pulling himself up on EVERYTHING. Brayden is "army crawling" everywhere super fast. its pretty funny seeing brayden move. When he sees something he wants he starts moving and doesnt stop till he gets it.

Bryson gets on his hands and feet and puts his bottom in the air. i have a feeling he will be walking VERY soon.

Problem? What Problem?

12/28/2012 21:43

I was kinda taken back when someone introduced Brayden as the one with the problem. Why is it that its a problem?? He was born with one eye. He will always only have one eye. It upsets me when people think of it as that.  We need to be thankful that he has such GREAT eyesight out of his other eye. He can spot a piece of clear plastic from across the room.  We dont need to focus on that he only has one eye.  He will get used to it and he will have enough people wondering about it he does not need people that know him making it worse by introducing him as "the one with the problem"

Babies first christmas!

12/28/2012 21:41

Christmas was so cute this year. My sister has a little boy who was born in june so it was fun to see them together opening presents. There was lots of special memories.

We dressed the twins and my sisters baby in the same outfits for church.  They looked like little men. Wish she lived closer so the boys could grow up with their cousin. I know how important family is.

Devins brother has a little girl who is 2 days older than the twins. It was fun to see them together. Bryson didnt know what to think because she was as big as he was so she could pick on him!

Brody did a great job helping the boys open gifts. he is a great big brother!

Hope everyone had a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Brayden

Devin was sick so i had to take brayden to wichita by myself monday for his hearing test.  He went to the dr. last week for an ear infection and they told me since he was on antibiotic.  We got there at 11:00 to check in. A little after 11:30 we got to his room.  The cna checked us in our room and the pharmacist came in to ask about his medicine. The RN came in and took his vitals and hooked him up to the monitor.  I guess it had not gotten to her that we had already called and they knew about his ear infection because she acted like it was a big deal.  The audiologist got there and was getting her things set up so we could do the hearing test.  The hearing test was supposed to be at 1:00 but the person who was in charge of putting him under had still not came to see him.  It was after 1:00 when the Dr. finally came.  She was not the Dr. i had talked to and told about his ear infection. She said he was too congested to be put under and that we should reschedule it.  I told them i dont live in Wichita and that they had already known about his ear infection.  The audiologist was not happy and i was not happy that they waited until almost 1:30 to let me know they were not going to do it since Brayden was not able to eat after 8:00 a.m.  The audiologist had me give him a bottle and hold him to see if he would cooperate for the test.  He was tired and hungry enough that she was able to do it! I was thankful that she was so nice and so willing to stay and do the test since i had driven all that way.  The test had not changed from the first test when he was younger which is very good.  We wanted to make sure it had not gotten worse. Im thankful there are still nice people out there that care about their patients!!!

too close

12/18/2012 21:47

Never knew with having twins how much unwanted attention i would get lol. Hard to just run into a store without someone asking if they are twins, or if they are boys or if they are girls. I know people are curious but i have never been the type of person to ask questions about someones baby. Today when trying to "run quickly" into walmart with all three of the boys an older gentlemen actually stopped my cart and was wanting to touch the babies. i stopped and smiled and told Brody to come on. I think sometimes people dont know they are being a little too close for comfort. I was majorly thrown back that someone would actually stop by cart to touch the babies. Whats the right way to go about this? Do you let them touch your babies or somehow tell them nicely no thank you? with all the sickness going around i dont think people need to be touching other peoples kids. Just my "rant" for the day!

sleeping

12/15/2012 21:36

BOTH boys slept ALL night! They even slept until after 7:00. Brysons been taking two naps a day and Brayden usually fights the second one. Im glad they are finally taking naps because they were getting super fussy when they would always fight it. I can't believe that they are already 8 months old. Time sure does fly! Especially with TWO babies.

Insurance

12/14/2012 11:20

I guess Braydens occularist does not want to work with the insurance. He is out of network because they are not paying him what he wants to be paid and the insurance does not want to pay what he wants. I wish they would work together for the benefit of brayden. He has accepted what insurance pays and HOPEFULLY he will continue to do that. They said Topeka has an in-network provider but i dont think i want to drive all the way to topeka once a month.

We are scooting along

12/13/2012 16:40

Brayden is not crawling yet but he just started "army crawling" he will scoot along with his elbows. Its really cute to see!

Bryson started crawling last month, then he started sitting up and now is trying to pull himself up. Our house is going to be CRAZY when both boys are crawling!
